First Snowfall

I was beginning to think I would never see any snow this winter, but lo and behold, I'm shooting my look in a pretty dusting of white! Yep, just a dusting, but we are supposed to be getting a foot this Saturday! If you know me, I'm not a fan of winter at all, but I am excited to finally look out my window and just see a beautiful, snowy blanket covering my yard. There's just something so magical and peaceful after a fresh snowfall.

In addition to snow, neutral colors are very peaceful and calming to me. My favorites right now are blush and gray. I got this beautiful infinity scarf for Christmas, with pink and metallic details, and I paired it with the best blush sweater I bought for under $25! The sweater and gray OTK boots picked up the tones of the scarf perfectly. I completed my neutral look with an ivory knit hat and tan handbag, making it one of my favorite color palettes this winter :)

Makeup Essentials Part 2

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a happy new year! I remained active on IG, but took a little break from blogging for a couple different reasons. 1. My good friend and photographer (she's been with me throughout my entire blogging venture) lost someone near and dear to her and it's been a lot for her over the past few weeks. I miss her and can't wait to get back at it, but sending lots of thoughts and prayers her way! 2. It's so important to maintain a balance between my personal life and my social media life. I'm constantly on my phone or computer, so it was nice to have lots of quality time with my family! But I'm back and excited to kick off this new year! I have so many looks to shoot and share and so many great ideas for the coming months. Stay tuned :)

It's about time I do a follow up to my makeup essentials list. I was a very lucky girl this Christmas and got not one, but two gift cards to Sephora (does happy dance)!! I have a few different products that I can't wait to share with you, some of them completely new to me based on recommendations and some of them tried and true. So without further ado....

Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette: I'm so excited to finally splurge on a contour kit!! In the past I would just contour with a bronzer or different shades of cheap foundation, but this palette consists of 6 different shades of creamy powder. It makes contouring so much easier and much more fun! Kat Von D makeup sells out fast in stores so check it out here!

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation: Gone are the days of cheap foundation for my skin! I had my go to Cover Girl foundation for years, but as I got older, it started feeling cake-y and heavy on my face. It was time to upgrade and I'm so glad I did! It feels amazing on my skin and looks great too. Be sure to buy your first bottle of it in-store so they can find the perfect shade for you. The best way to apply it is with a beauty blender. You can find both online here and here

Nivea Men Post Shave Balm (Sensitive): You might laugh when you see this, but thanks to a tip from the amazing Nikkie Tutorials, I bought the most amazing primer ever!! I find it difficult to spend a ton of money on makeup, especially something like primer that I never thought was important. I realize now how important it really is and even better that you don't have to splurge! This balm acts as the most amazing primer and it's only $6! You can buy it in any drugstore or online here

Mac Cosmetics Mineralize Blush: I wouldn't say I'm loyal to this blush, or any blush for that matter, but it's just a really great blush. I don't like a ton of pink on my cheeks. Between contouring and highlighting, you really don't need an intense color on top of that. This product is also very lightweight, which I'm all about these days! Find it here

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter: I have a slight obsession with highlighting and no one does it better than Becca. If you can't get enough of highlighting, or realize it's something you need to add to your makeup game, you won't be sorry buying this here

Thanks for reading!

Summer in Winter?

Here on the east coast, the weather hasn't been short of amazing, unless you are a fan of snow. I, however, could live in warm weather year round. For me, it has kind of been the best of both worlds. I can dress in winter clothes, but without having to throw on a down coat everywhere I go. One of my favorite things to do is take my closet staples and make them work year round. Who doesn't love to buy something and really get your money's worth?! I wore this striped dress below all summer long and now I can use it as the perfect layering piece. The best part is that it's less than $20!! This type of mild weather also calls for dresses and OTK boots. Most winters, having bare legs at all is just not realistic. This has been the perfect winter for pulling off this look! You can be stylish and comfortable all at the same time ;)

Colorado in a Heartbeat

Luckily, this was not my first trip to Colorado. My husband and I were there for only a few short days for a wedding. He was a groomsman so we also had to attend the rehearsal dinner. It felt like a whirlwind trip, but we still had an amazing time! I've been dying to go to Vail and Aspen (perfect for fashion lovers I've heard!), but we were too limited with time so hopefully we can return some day. We made the best of the time we had. As soon as we left the airport in our little rental car, we headed to Boulder. I had been there before, but I loved it and wanted to go back. It's a college town, with great shopping and food (my two favorite things) and big, beautiful mountains standing erect behind us. It's just amazing to an east coast girl to see that ;). We grabbed lunch at Oak at Fourteenth and I highly recommend it! Who doesn't love a fancy grilled cheese and tomato soup on a cold day?!

It was time to head to our hotel and get ready for the rehearsal. Dinner was at the hotel, which was amazing because we were exhausted from traveling. I grabbed my favorite leather jacket and threw it over my new LBD. This dress is so comfortable and perfectly on trend with the lace-up in the front and less than $60! You can't beat that!

The next morning while Kevin was doing his duties as groomsman, I ordered room service and headed to the local Park Meadows mall. So amazing compared to the one in my hometown! I had to rush to get ready to catch the shuttle to the reception. My dress definitely took some time to put on haha, a little confusing, but I am still so completely in love with it. The dress is so flattering and oddly comfortable given the shape of it. I highly recommend this designer if you are looking for the perfect formal dress! The wedding was amazing, the food was delicious and the band was on point. So happy for our friends Carl and Meghan!!

On our last day, we wanted to be outdoors as much as possible. We ate at an adorable breakfast spot called NoNo's Cafe and headed to Red Rocks Park for the most beautiful hike! I had to share a couple pictures below, it was the perfect end to our brief trip.

Fuzzy Wuzzy

I'm obsessed with everything fur. Faux fur of course! I have yet to find that perfect faux fur coat this season (I actually did find one but it sold out in my size *tear*), but you can wear fur in other ways. One of my favorite winter items is this knit hat with the fur pom on top! I bought the matching fur stole with it from Banana Republic (linked below) at 40% off! My sweater is from Asos last year but I'll link a similar one below! I highly recommend getting one, it's so cozy and soft.

When I shot this look, I was waiting for my new Forever 21 OTK boots in the perfect gray color to go with it, but alas they did not come in time. I will link them below as well because they are only $45 and you can't pass them up!

Gray Days

Happy Friday loves!! As promised I will be styling one of my favorite scarves from last year, don't worry the exact same scarf is linked below, and hopefully you adore it as much as I do! Gray is one of my favorite colors for fall and winter, so this definitely won't be my last post sharing my love of this gorgeous, neutral color. For me, gray is the new black. It goes with everything and even just styling your outfit in all different shades creates a chic look. I wore an over-sized, white button down underneath my favorite gray sweater so I could wear them with leggings or skinny jeans and paired it with this beautiful color block scarf to add some pops of color.

I have a busy couple weeks coming up, so bare with me! Between Thanksgiving next week and a Colorado wedding the following week, I'm super stressed, but I can't wait to share all my adventures with you and the clothes that come with them ;)! If you follow along on my Instagram account, you might have seen my post with a black dress I bought for the wedding. It ended up not working out, but I did finally find the perfect dress and I'm so excited to for you all to see it! Lot's of fun posts ahead, stay tuned!!!

Winter Whites

I love wearing whites in the wintertime. Yes, I know it's not winter yet, but it will be here soon! The old saying, "no wearing whites after labor day," is a thing of the past. Bust out your favorite pair of white skinny jeans and throw on a pair of boots and a comfy sweater and you are good to go! How pretty is an all-white outfit against a snowy backdrop?! ;)

I went with my family to Longwood Gardens yesterday. If you are ever around Kennett Square, PA, it's a must! You don't even have to be a big flower and plant lover. It's a beautiful place to get in a great walk, look at amazing scenery and if you have kids, it's perfect for them to run around and tire themselves out! This sweater is from last year, but I linked an almost identical one. This scarf is a must-have and it's just under $13!! If you haven't bought these shoes yet, they are so comfortable and look nearly identical to the Isabel Marant ones, minus the ridiculous price tag..
