In the Trench

So even if you don't follow Kim Kardashian, I'm sure you've seen shots of her in her signature trenches. They really are the perfect pieces to add to your wardrobe for a chic look but also for comfort. Do you ever wear something form-fitting, but feel self-conscious at times? Especially after you eat? Food baby anyone? Throw on a sleeveless trench in the summer and then you can rock that tight dress! Show off glimpses of your curves all while being able to conceal the parts you're not so comfortable with. The best part about my trench below? It's less than $20!! I'll link a couple others in case this one sells out ;)

So this weekend we will be heading down to Rehobeth for our family beach week. I have a ton of great looks to share when I return, but you can follow along on IG. I may or may not post one more look before I leave, but I'm hoping when I return I'll be able to post to my new site!! It's been a long time coming, but I'm so excited to share. Okay, time to get packing! It takes a long time to pack for myself and my two kids, not looking forward to it. Have a great week loves!

Father's Day + Summer Faves

Father's Day weekend is upon us so I wanted to do something thoughtful for my husband, who really is such an amazing dad. My photographer, of Hello Sweetheart Photography, took some pictures of us that I will be sharing below and framing for the special day! Of course I took this opportunity to also share my new favorite top from SheIn and it's only $23!! I wore it belted to shorten it, but it can also be worn as a tunic. I love how comfy it is and so fun with the pom-poms. It really reminds me of the top from Pitusa but at a fraction of the cost. Another must-have are my platform sandals. They are very similar to the oh-so-popular Marc Fisher sandals but at about half the price. I also linked a bunch of my favorite summer looks from SheIn below as well. All are extremely affordable, around $20 each!

I also wanted to apologize for the lack of blog posts. I'm getting ready to transition to the new Easily Suede site and I've just been working really hard on getting it ready. It's been a long time coming and I'm so excited to share it with you! I'm hoping to have it ready by July and then my posts will be back in full swing!

St. Michaels

Hope everyone had an amazing Memorial Day weekend! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, although I've been busy on Instagram (I plan on doing an IG roundup shortly), but I've been super busy with the holiday, my husband's grandma passing, and I've been working on my much needed blog face lift. I can't wait to share, I'm hoping it'll be done within a week or two!!

So back when I had my birthday at the end of April, I wanted to plan a day trip with my family to the Chesapeake Bay. No joke, I saw a list of top 10 best restaurants for crab cakes and was on a mission. BUT, then it rained for a month. Finally, the sun came out and we headed to St. Michaels. I thought I would share some pictures and recommendations for our trip and of course, share the details of the outfit I wore.

It's a 3 hour drive so in order to break it up for the kids, we stopped at Sandy Point State Park, which was 2 hours away. It has beautiful beaches on the Chesapeake, bathrooms, picnic tables, etc. We got some sun, the boys did some fishing and we had a picnic. After we changed into our nicer clothes, we headed the rest of the way to St. Michaels.

On the way into St. Michaels, I was in major need of a pick-me-up. If you love coffee as much as I do, don't miss out on Rise Up Coffee! So good. It's easy to drive passed it because it's right before you hit the town in a little stand on the side of the road, but totally worth it.

What's the first thing you and your kids need on a hot day? Ice cream of course! You have to go to Justine's, the ice cream is so yummy and they have a ton of great milkshakes you can't pass up!

We had so much fun walking around the town, lots of cute shops. We also walked along the bay. I eventually had to change from wedges to flats as you will see below lol!

Seen here with flats haha.. One of the attractions of St. Michaels is the Maritime Museum. I wasn't super excited about it at first, but the kids ended up loving it and I had a good time too. I'm standing on the one level of the lighthouse and the picture above is from the top of the lighthouse. So pretty!

Dress: here (if it's sold out, you can call and order from Apricot Lane Lancaster if they still have some left available in-store. Shoes: here and here | Bag: here | Hat: here | Sunnies: Quay Australia

It's hard to see, but that white building in the background is the Inn at Perry Cabin where the big wedding on Wedding Crashers was shot :)

I finally got the crab cakes I was craving and they were AMAZING!! We went to The Narrows restaurant on Kent Island, about 45 minutes from St. Michaels and on the way home for us. You can't beat the crab cakes or the view below!
